which leg of flights is better to use my upgrade to first class?
the outbound which is los angeles (burbank airport) to indianapolis (early in the morning) or the return flight which is new orleans to los angeles? For me the advantage taking the outbound flight 1st class is that the check-in is easier. but the advantage of coming back on 1st class is that i'm tired and the flights are longer fighting the headwinds. What would you choose? actually i chose the outbound flight because i forgot i'm flying with my dad from new orleans to dallas and want to sit with him and the flight to dallas is shorter so overall coming back it would be shorter.

MSY-LAX.....relax with some brewskis. You probably wouldn't feel much like doing that early in the morning (and you can check in online anyway!)
2 :
The return flight.
3 :
Probably the return flight. Going First Class and returning Economy always results in an unfavorable comparison on the way back. Also, one perk of First Class is free drinks, which may not apply if you are traveling in the morning. A factor to check is lounge access before the flight. For example, if the airline has a lounge in LA but not at MSY that could be a decider. If you are on Delta there is a Sky Club in New Orleans, but I don't think any of the other airlines have a lounge at MSY.

Obama leaving campaign trail to visit grandmother WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is canceling nearly all his campaign events Thursday and Friday to fly to Hawaii to visit his suddenly gravely ill 85-year-old grandmother, a spokesman said. Robert Gibbs told reporters aboard Obama's plane that Madelyn Payne Dunham, who helped raise Obama, was released from the hospital late last week. But he said her health had deteriorated "to the point where her situation is very serious." Events originally planned for Madison, Wis., and Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday will be replaced with one in Indianapolis before he makes the long flight to Hawaii. On Friday, Obama's wife, Michelle, will sub for Obama at rallies in Akron and Columbus, in Ohio, said campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki. Obama was expected to resume campaigning on Saturday, at an undecided location in the West, she said. "Sen. Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has always been one of the most important people in his life, along with his mother and his grandfather," Gibbs said. yea im 17 and ive flown to all kinds of places. If you need assistance be sure to either ask workers in the airport or simply read the signs. The airport is not as intimidating as it looks. good luck!
2 :
yes, i first flew alone when i was 11.

If you're applying for a college in Indianapolis, you can usually apply either online or by mail. If you want to check out the campus, then that's perfectly understandable. Anyway, a 17-year-old can fly alone. Some airlines include 17-year-olds in their "unaccompanied minor" services, but they're an additional cost. These services usually do include an assistant to help you. Honestly, airports are pretty easy. The signs are easy to follow. Here's the typical process: 1. First, you need to make sure that you have your boarding pass. There are a variety of ways to get it. Some airlines let you check in online the day before, and you can print out your boarding pass then. You can also check in at the airport, either at a desk or with an electronic kiosk. Bring your ID and confirmation number. 2. When driving into the airport, follow the signs to the terminal for your airline. 3. At the terminal, find the departures monitor and see what gate your flight is located at. 4. Next, you need to pass through security. You are typically allowed one personal bag (like a purse or backpack) and one regular bag (small suitcase) for carry-on. During screening, you must empty your pockets and take off anything metallic. Laptops must be screened separate from everything else. Liquids and gels must be 3.4 ounces or less, and must all be in 1 quart-sized plastic bag. 5. After you pass through security, head to your gate and wait for your flight!

Which NCAA Tournament No. 1 seed has the toughest path to the Final Four? Kentucky -- John Wall scheduled workouts for NBA teams on the weekend of the Elite Eight Duke -- it's tough to get up for every game when you know your defeat would bring joy to tens of millions across the country Kansas -- first round opponent Lehigh has many players taller than the American average for males of 5-foot-10 Syracuse -- no airlines fly direct from Syracuse to Indianapolis and, worst of all, most flights include a layover in Detroit

How is it that I can fly cheaper from IND to DTW to LON, then directly from DTW to LON

it depends on how large the city is where the airport is located and sometimes flights with stops are cheaper than non stop flights
2 :
People will pay more for things they want more....it's the law of supply and demand. Most consumers want the quickest route and are willing to pay for that convenience. I assume you would want that nonstop flight as well. If you are willing to fill seats on less direct routes, airlines must lower the price since there is less demand.
3 :
Because DTW is a hub city for NWA, they have a very large presence there and less competition, and the flight from DTW-LON is non-stop. Both of these factors tend to raise prices. Whatever you do, don't try to purchase the IND-DTW-LON flight and try skip the IND-DTW portion. Your entire itinery will be cancelled when you don't show up for one flight segment.

If it doesn't cost much more, I would fly into Indianapolis. Then look up "Lafayette Limo". They will pick you up and bring you to Purdue's Memorial Union.
2 :
You are correct, there are no commercial flights to Purdue airport in West Lafayette. I live across the river in Lafayette, by the way. Indianapolis airport is about 75 minutes, and Lafayette Limo will take you for $27 one-way. They leave approximately every 2 hours. It is best to have a reservation, especially if you have a lot of baggage. They make a few stops in Lafayette/West Lafayette, so be sure to get off at the right stop. http://www.lafayettelimo.com/ To get from Mumbai to Indianapolis, however, you will have to change planes once or twice. There are no international flights from IND except to Toronto and Cancun. You could fly BOM-EWR-IND, for instance. Or BOM-FRA-YYZ-IND. There are many other possibilities. As for O'Hare, there are nonstop flights BOM-ORD. You can then take Express Air Coach to Purdue. $65, takes about 3 hours. Note that there is a time change - when it is 10:00 at Purdue, it is 9:00 at Chicago. http://www.expressaircoach.com/ I think Jet Airways also has flights to either EWR or JFK. There should be nonstop flights EWR-ORD on Continental, United, and American. JFK-ORD on United, American. JFK-IND on US Airways, Delta. EWR-IND on Continental. Not sure about ticket price, but the flight on Jet Airways or a European airline will likely be nicer than on a US-based airline. Or if you can fly Eastbound, consider Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines - they are consistently rated the nicest airlines in the world. They both serve Los Angeles, and from there you can fly nonstop to Indianapolis (on Northwest) or Chicago (on United or American).

Where can I find cheap(under $1000) flights to London, England
Where can I find cheap(under $1000) flights to London, England?
Where can I find flights out of either Louisville, KY; Indianapolis, IN; or Nashville, TN to London, England for under $1000?? Someone told me that now you can get flights over to London for around $300- $400 but, I haven't found that and that's kind of what I'm hoping for but, anything under $1000 on a safe and respectable airline.

Try http://www.expedia.com For flights next week Delta are offering seats from any of your departure points to London for £415 return. With a plane change in Atlanta.
2 :
The odds of you finding a plane ticket for $300 to $400 between the US and UK are now slim -- while this was not uncommon several years ago, the price of tickets has increased to the point where the cheapest winter fares between the US and UK are probably in the $600-$700 range, when they do go on sale. Additionally, keep in mind that these cheaper fares are likely only to be found during the winter, which is the low season for travel to Europe. If you're looking to fly during the summer (between Memorial Day and Labor Day), then the $1000 prices are probably going to be the best you're going to get.
3 :
AA.com has flights to Europe on sale right now until the end of Nov from various US airports for travel until Apr 17,2011
4 :
Certain times of the year you can get really low cost flights to London. It is mainly in December, January and February. Go to www.tripadvisor.com and play with the dates. Be sure to allow plenty of advanced notice. Also look at Cincinnati (CVG) since Delta has non-stop flights from there. I put in Jan. 12-19 CVG-LHR and got a fare of $492 plus tax, total $694, on USAirways.

Farecompare: http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/year.html?destination=Del%20Rio,%20TX%20(DRT)&p=1&s=r&t=o&departure=Indianapolis,%20IN%20(IND)&type=research#Select_Depart_Day ITASoftware: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/prego/calendar Looks like seats available for $191 o/w total with taxes included from IND. Continental is the only airline serving DRT currently, with all flights connecting in via Houston. Best and cheapest to book direct from the airline in this case: http://www.continental.com

Average prices range from $176-3000 About $430 from ohio to Texas

Going to Vegas Aug. 2nd thru 7th? need help?
I've searched high and low for cheap flights, hotels, packages - everything. Hotel doesn't seem too bad by book separately, but anyone know of cheap flights right now from Indianapolis to Vegas. I'm driving myself crazy with searching. Thanks for the help!

I found Northwest at $243 RT per person http://www.nwa.com also found Southwest at $ 229.20 RT per person with this being nonstop both ways. http://www.southwest.com These are great prices and they aren't going to go any lower. You have to book immediately to get these low prices. Northwest has only a few seat left. Southwest goes fast so hurry.
2 :
The best way to get a great deal is to book them separately. For flights, check sites like Southwest airlines or US Airways. Also do a search on kayak engine. It will check all airlines going to Vegas and all major travel sites and return the cheapest fare. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cheap-flights.php For hotels, book directly from the hotels using their discount promo codes to get the maximum discounts. Here are a few codes. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.php

Name your own price at priceline.com website. Name something like 25% cheaper midweek. Weekends/Holidays Expensive! $$$$ I got airfare from Seattle to Las Vegas for $99.00 major airline carrier! (midweek) Weds/Thurs timeline. (48 hours) I was looking for apt. and work! Got the apt, still missing the job! Ouch!

I just booked aug. 1-4, got flight, hotel, plus 2 cirdesol tickets for $366 person..try looking at bookit and travelocity .com
5 :
Check out these awesome hotel promotional codes on http://vegasmadeeasy.com/plan-your-stay/hotel-deals for some great money saving deals. Flights are typically cheaper when booked by themselves. Have Fun

Congratulations on picking potentially the hottest week of the year... no joke... but anyways. Finding discount airfare is not easy.. In fact you might not find it unless you are willing to fly at really bad hours or make a lot of layovers. This is a reprint of an article published by CNN Money on "5 Ways to Fly Cheaper" http://www.kidsinvegas.com/airlines-flights/80-5-ways-to-fly-cheaper.html It offers some very sound advice. Have a fun trip, bring loose comfortable clothing, sunblock, sunglasses, and really comfortable walking shoes.

Best time to buy cheap airfare to Disney World in September
Best time to buy cheap airfare to Disney World in September?
We will be going to Walt Disney World in September. I haven't bought the airline tickets yet. The fares are still a bit too high (Indianapolis to Orlando) so I have been waiting for a lower price. How much longer should I wait? When is the most economical time to buy a low-cost airfare ticket for September flights? Thanks! Sounds good! The only thing is that my dates are fixed: Leave September 13th, Return September 19th. I know those days of the week aren't ideal, but those are the days I have to travel, unfortunately.

It will probably keep going up. If your trip includes Labor Day, then you will be paying more than if you go other times in September. See http://www.travelbargainsites.com for a list of cheap travel sites. Once you find the lowest going rate, you can haggle it down through Priceline or Hotwire.
2 :
$138 + $27 taxes & fees = $165 per person Price Assurance Northwest Airlines Depart: 8:15am Arrive: 10:30am Indianapolis, IN (IND) Orlando, FL (MCO) Non-stop Economy 2hr 15min Boeing Douglas DC-9 Northwest Airlines Depart: 11:50am Arrive: 2:11pm Orlando, FL (MCO) Indianapolis, IN (IND) Non-stop Economy 2hr 21min Boeing Douglas DC-9
3 :
If you can time it right, it would be cheapest to fly Southwest. We are not accepting reservations for September yet, but when we open the schedule for your dates, you can probably get a "Web Special" fare which usually varies between $79 and $100 dollars per person. The schedule will open up for those dates on June 26...I would check then!
4 :
With the rising cost of fuel, the sooner the better. But they'll probably be at their cheapest as long as there are no holidays right around the time you are searching. I was looking for airfare as soon as flights were available, and i found a nonstop flight for my dad, Newark to Orlando and it was Continental for $200 total! Too bad he didnt grab it, he thought he had time, so he waited like a month and ended up paying $300 something. So the sooner the better. In my case, i'm Indianapolis to ORL like you and it was always expensive! The best deal i got was $450 per person but then when i bought it it didnt go through, on cheaptickets and i called them and they said it was because the airline was charging more, so it was close to $500 per person, atleast non stop, but that was as the price as soon as any flights were available. Good luck.
5 :
you really need to buy them now. first of all the rates will continue to go up until the gas prices come down and that is not happening any time soon. i am going to disney december 27th to january 2nd and i have already purchased my airfare. secondly seats for orlando fill up fast. and usually just small planes with 2 seats the isle and 2 more seats. trying to get seats too close to the date you are leaveing would be a big mistake. you wouldn't want to forefit you trip because you couldn't get a flight. i urge you not to wait.

I just wrote about this on my blog today (http://www.beechin.com/personal-finance/4-ways-to-find-cheap-airfare-on-flights/). As a quick summary: 1. kayak.com or farecast.com (farecast will give you recommendation of "buy" or "wait" based on historical data 2. off peak dates (tuesday and wednesday) 3. buy during the cheapest TIME of day (early in the morning + 5 PM) 4. look for a package deal (with rental car + hotel)

How to get to Des Moines, Iowa from India
How to get to Des Moines, Iowa from India ?
I am wondering where do I need to landup in New York, Chicago, Indianapolis or any other city from India ?or is there a direct flight ? Where do I get Information on Train Service timings and Bus service timings in USA, a link to website would be useful.

Amtrak is the national train service, but there are no stations in Des Moines: http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/HomePage Greyhound is the largest bus carrier in the States: http://www.greyhound.com/home.asp I would recommend flying into Iowa. As there are no direct flights from India to Iowa you will need to connect through a larger airport (New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc.), but that will be the fastest way to travel and shouldn't add too much onto your flight. Where you connect will depend on where you will be flying out of in India, and what airline you will be flying, and what airports in the United States they fly to. This is the link to the Des Moines airport, that should help you pick your connecting cities if you choose to go that route: http://www.dsmairport.com/
2 :
You should fly into Chicago. I believe that is the closest international airport and it's only about 5 hours from Des Moines.
3 :
Go to www.aa.com, they have a daily non stop leaving Delhi around midnight and arriving Chicago early in the morning. The equipment is a 777 so it is a very comfortable plane for such a long flight. Give yourself about 2-3 hours layover in Chicago to clear customs and change concourses if needed. You can then catch a flight to Des Moines. It should take just over an hour gate to gate from ORD to Des Moines. Also, you should contact AA at 800-421-0600 for information on their platinum challenge. Basically it will allow you to become a platinum member and have an excellent chance for Business class upgrades on subsequent flights to India all free of charge.

Can someone give me a general description of Greater Cincinnati, please
Can someone give me a general description of Greater Cincinnati, please?
I am trying to decide between Indianapolis and Cincinnati to live. My impression of Indianapolis is that it is mostly flat, and open, with a fair amount of trees. My impression of Cincy is that it is hilly, wooded, and given the terran, it is probably more conjested, and has a less open geographical feel about it. I haven't been to either city. I will initially fly into Indy and drive to Cincy. The cost of a flight to Cincy (from Denver) is about triple what it cost to fly into Indy. Thanks for your time.

sorry nobody has yet to answer. I don't know if you are wanting to live in Cincinnati or the Greater Cincinnati area. But here's my experience: For me, Indy was always fun to visit but I was always dying to get back home. I was borne and raised in West Chester, OH about 30 minutes north of Downtown Cincinnati. The things about Cincinnati is there is SO much to do and see and you have access to things you just don't have in other cities. Now having said that West Chester was perfect because you have access to all those places and experiences but you don't have to deal with the congestion and hassle of the actual city because you are far enough out to have the option of quiet of you'd like As far as the flying, I feel your pain. From personal experience I have found CVG is less expensive to fly out of than it is to fly into, although it is a Delta hub still (for a little while longer) Try flying into DAY (Dayton) which is about 30 minutes north of West Chester, which I already said is 30 minutes north of Cincy. Check out the questions and answers in the Cincinnati category about what there is to do in Cincinnati. There is so much and I have already gone on enough. Have a safe trip and good luck deciding!

flights to cincy as pricey...i usually fly into dayton, not too far and significantly cheaper. cincy is a great town, and you'd be nuts not to at least consider it! it's a beautiful town with lots of history and character. It's no more congested than indy. i'm not a fan of indy, but then again i am biased! check out fairfield, west chester, mason, loveland, etc...they are just outside cincinnati and are great suburban areas. if you're looking to move into the city, check out hyde park, mt. lookout, oakley, mt. adams, etc. google these neighborhoods, you'll be so glad you did!

Best place to get flight, hotel and car rental tickets
Best place to get flight, hotel and car rental tickets?
My mom and I will be planning a trip at the end of August to fly from Indianapolis to LA, Cali. We plan to stay for 5 nights/6 days. I checked out orbits.com and the cheapest pkg deal I got was $1,222 (total for us both) which includes our flight (round trip), our hotel room which I chose the Hilton in LA airport since it was the cheapest and a car rental. Is that a good deal for us both? So it would be like $600 a piece. Ohh, really? I didn't know that! I will have to look that up now! Thank you for the info, by the way!

http://www.priceline.com worked wonders for me. By the way just so you know: There IS a difference between California and Cali.
2 :
A couple other sights that actually compare the results from the other sights and directs you to the sight with the best deal.
3 :
We understand that people on the east coast think it's "cute" to refer to California as "Cali". Cali is a drug city in Colombia, South America, and most Californians feel that comparing our state to that place is DISRESPECTFUL and INSULTING. We abbreviate our states name "Cal". I believe you can get better deals than that. Try looking at a few more travel consolidators like Travelosity, Expedia, etc. Consider that hotels near LAX mainly cater to business travelers who get reimbursed for expenses by their company so they can be pricier than hotels more inland. And since you're renting a car that shouldn't be a problem. May I suggest looking in the Downey, Lakewood, Cerritos, area. It's roughly mid way between the touristy places in L.A. and Disneyland, and a reasonably safe area. Enjoy your vacation. From LAX it is about 12 miles to the Hollywood area, 20 miles to downtown L.A., and 40 miles to Disneyland.
4 :
I read more problems or no help with problems when using priceline or hotwire, so I would not book with them. I do comparrisons when I travel using kayak, sidestop aol travel travelocity expedia.com I use to see huge differences by using the sites now it might only be a few dollars. If youd like help comparing you must list dates of travel. Mon tues wed is cheapest for flight and and hotels, at least having having it at the start of the trip helps or ending on one of those days. If your going to be there with a fri sat sun mon combo, then rent a car from enterprise, they do a half price deal for those days, and just return and rerent the car for the other days. It must have a check out check in fri and mon though.

Sufficient time for connecting flights in O'Hare
Sufficient time for connecting flights in O'Hare?
I will be travelling from Brussels to Indianapolis via Chicago O'Hare in October (on a Monday afternoon). I have about 2 hours to make my connecting flight in O'Hare, will that be enough?

1 :
It should be. But to be safe, if you can carry your luggage on-board, rather than check it, you will save about 20-30 minutes in getting your bag. And besides, most connecting flights out of O'Hare are delayed anyway.
2 :
That should be plenty of time (as always, assuming flilghts are on-time), but you might should find out the planned gates - arrival and departure - and check them against a web map of the airport. (If you get the chance to travel on the underground walkway, take it; It's a pleasant experience.)
3 :
O'Hare is the WORST commercial airport in the country. Flights stack up forever waiting to land, and weather conditions are always causing problems, at any time of the year. Given that your connecting flight will probably be delayed an hour or two, two hours may be enough, but I'd prefer 3-4 hours to be safe.
4 :
I would say your chances are good, probably 80% or better. However, if you do miss it, the airline will put you on another flight. In the absolute worst case scenario, it is not too far of a drive from Chicago to Indianapolis - 3-4 hours, depending on traffic.
5 :
2 hours is plenty. I've connected there with 30 minutes. Unless there is some giant blizzard or some unforseen weather, you should be fine.
6 :
2 hours should be enough. You'll be going from the International Terminal to the Domestic, so that will take up your most time. I imaging the flight from ORD to Indy should last less than an hour as it only takes about 3-4 hours to drive there!
7 :
It depends on how long the lines in customs are. I would say 2 hours may be a little tight. If you fly United to Indianapolis, then you would have to go from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1. If American, then you would fly out of Terminal 3. Plus you would have to re-check any luggage and then go through security again.

Plus you would have to re-check any luggage and then go through security again.

what are the circle things you see from airplanes
what are the circle things you see from airplanes?
I Just got back from New Mexico tonight and I had 4 flights. 1 from indianapolis to Denver then from Denver to Alb. Then on the way back from Alb. to Denver and from Denver back to Indianapolis. When I could see the ground from way up in the plan I saw lots of circles that looked like farm fields but Im not sure what they are. I can tell they are very big and vary in color. Does any one know what they are? And if they are farm fields witch is what I think they look like....why farm in a circle? http://mycardsforthecure.com/db1/00059/mycardsforthecure.com/_uimages/circles_fields.jpg Here is a pic Thank you all very much, I have been trying to guess what they are all week and no one could tell me. Thank you =) now I know.

First off they're not circles, they're more like ovals, duh
2 :
It's the result of an irrigation method there are long pipes on wheels which act as sprinklers. One end is fixed and the other is movable creating a circle as the free end travels. Sometimes, you'll see half circles or other portions of a circle.
3 :
The circles are areas where the land has been watered by an irrigation system (sprinklers) which are attached to the ground at the center and rotate around (usually on wheels). Usually found in arid parts of the world such as the States of Arizona, Nebraska, Colorado, etc. they will vary in color based on time of year, crop, and type of land. The irrigation systems are also called "center pivot irrigation". Some farmers have used the systems to form geometric patterns when viewed from above. These are called "crop circles".
4 :
You are correct that what you saw were farm fields. In places where water is more scarce, fields must often be watered so that crops can grow. It's not uncommon for waters to be delivered by a sprinkler that pivots in the center, meaning that it goes in a circle around a point in the center of the field. (The type of irrigation, in fact, is called "center pivot irrigation.") In other words, the field is circular because the water is delivered to the crops in that fashion.

AirTran Flight Checkin for Large Group of Passengers
AirTran Flight Checkin for Large Group of Passengers?
We are a large group of individuals with two reservations that will be flying from Orlando to Indianapolis on AirTran. Most of us will be checking in bags and paying fees individually. For a flight departing at 9:50am, how early should we arrive to the airport checkin counter? I am also unsure if I should use online checkin as we are paying for bags individually at the airport. Any other advice for our group? We are a group of 10 people. Should we checkin online and just pay for our bags at the airport or should we wait to checkin and do everything at the airport? I'm trying to avoid problems.

If the group is over 20 people, I would be at the airport by 6:30 am.

4 :
i know exactly what you can do ask your mom if your friends can come with you to your trip to Indianapolis maybe it would work out they can just get money for their plane tickets and they can even meet your cousin and you guys can all hang out but don make anyone feel left out and i your friends leave you out and go with your cousin than just say hey she's my family and i think that we should just hangout all together because i really missed her and then you guys could go out for some ice cream or something and it would probably really fun and if they can't come tell your cousin to come to where you live and do the things i said there

Family first....always. In a couple of years you will be lucky if those kids remember your name. You cousin, will always be your cousin. And if you two are that close I'm sure you will have a great time together. Beside Indy is an awesome city!
8 :
i would definitely go see my cousin if she's like a sister to you..& if i haven't seen her in months..or i would have a sleepover if they are like really good friends but its up to you! happy sweet 16 :P
9 :
I would go spend time with your cousin. My cousin was 5 hours from me and I missed opportunities to spend time with her and now I regret it. She is such a sweet person and I enjoyed my times with her...I chose my friends every time and I lost touch with most of them. So...turning 16 is a big deal so spend it with your sister/cousin. You can go to the mall anytime and have sleep overs with your friends any weekend. Good luck with your decision and have lots of fun!
10 :
That is tough. I would take going to see your cousin because you will get to see your friends at school but it is not everyday that you get to see your cousin!

Absolutely nothing. Get out of Indiana and go to Boston or D.C.
2 :
If you're into racing or even just history, go check out the museum at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It has some really really cool stuff there (even if you aren't a racing fan). Other than that, I'm not really sure. (I only go to Indianapolis once a year on my pilgrimage to the Indy 500). Good luck on your interview!

The airport is relatively close to the downtown area. So their would be plenty to do.

Don't be nervous. I live in Oklahoma & my mom lives in Louisiana. I've flown down there and to texas so many times by myself and im only 14. I've been doing it since i was 10 or 11. It's actually quite fun. Taking off is the best part. Sometimes your ears can get stopped up. All you do to fix it is chew gum or yawn. It always works for me! You should always be at the airport at least an hour early, so you can check in, go through security, and find your gate. Don't pack any liquids/lotions/perfumes/shampoos in your carry on bag. They will just straight up throw it away. Put all of that in your suitcase that you check in. & ive never taken my straightner with me in my carry on bag before, but im pretty sure it would be fine. Hope this helped! :)
2 :
it's an adventure -something exciting, not frightening. your attitude change will help you enjoy the trip. pack a bag with some clothing applicable for the weather to check onto the flight & put your toiletries & other things for the flight itself in your small carry on bag.
3 :
flights are rarely, if ever canceled due to thunder storms. While in flight the Pilot can typically fly above the storms. I'm not familiar with what a hair straightener is but if it's liquid it can't be over 3oz. and must be placed into a zip lock baggy which you will put into a bin at security along with your shoes,jacket,carry-on. Enjoy your flight!
4 :
1) Your travel dates are too far away for any weather prediction to be accurate, so don't worry about the rain. It might rain, but it could also turn out to be a nice, calm day. 2) Rain by itself almost never causes a cancellation. Sometimes planes are held on the ground before takeoff to wait for a particularly heavy shower to pass by. 3) Same thing with thunderstorms. If one is nearby when landing, you may just fly in a circle for a while to wait until it passes, then you will land. 4) If your flight is delayed because of bad weather, there is nothing you can do except to be patient and to be glad that the air traffic control people are doing their job to make sure everyone arrives safely. Becoming upset or worried about something over which no one has any control is a waste of energy. 5) Your BF can check on Airtran's website to see if your plane has taken off from LGA, and when it is expected to arrive, so he can figure out when to leave to meet you at the airport. Since it is a non-stop flight, then you do not have to be concerned about missing a connecting flight - that's a very good thing. 6) Yes, you can take your hair straightener in your carry on - people do that all the time. 7) You can also take liquids in your carry on bag - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste and so on. All of those items must be in containers that are 3.4 ounces or less (100 ml), and all of them must be together in a single, 1 quart, zip lock bag. When you get to the checkpoint, take that bag out of your carry on bag and put it into a bin, put your carry on bag onto the conveyor belt as well, a purse and coat and shoes can go into a bin, too. I hope you find the flight to be enjoyable and trouble free.

International flight transfer at O'Hare
International flight transfer at O'Hare?
I'm going to fly to China from Indianapolis, with a transfer at O'Hare, Chicago. Both flights are United. Are my luggages checked all the way to China in Indianapolis or I have to get my luggages checked again at O'Hare? Do I have to go through another security check at O'Hare or simply go to another gate to make the transfer? Thank you very much for your replies!

Your luggage will be taken care of all the way to china. And you won't have to go through security again. United is unique at O'Hare that its international flights are in the same terminal as its domestic flights.

Your luggage will be taken care of all the way to china. And you won't have to go through security again. United is unique at O'Hare that its international flights are in the same terminal as its domestic flights.

Indianapolis to St. Louis bus travel
Indianapolis to St. Louis bus travel?
I need to travel from Indianapolis (or Bloomington, In.) to St.Louis (family of 3). Used to be a quick and cheap flight - no more! Greyhound Bus from Indy is cheap, but is it OK in terms of personal safety and comfort? We would be going in the afternoon, not at night.

Just be extra careful at the Downtown St. Louis station. Have someone meet you (and not be late) or grab a cab as soon as you have all of your luggage. Have a great trip!
2 :
Comfort, not necessarily. Safety is probably okay. You probably already know to watch your things in ANY large city bus station, and don't accept help carrying it from anyone you don't know. It is a ploy to run with your valuables.

Transferring to international flight at JFK? Anyone familiar with JFK
Transferring to international flight at JFK? Anyone familiar with JFK?
Hi, all I'm going to China very soon and now I'm looking at some flight tickets. I'm considering flying from Indianapolis to JFK non-stop by Delta, then from JFK to Beijing by Air China. If so, I'm arriving at JFK at 3:05PM and the Air China plane takes off at 4:50 PM. I've never been to JFK before. Is the lay over time enough to make this transfer? I got luggage to check too. Thank you very much PS: China Airlines has a horrible safety record, not Air China...which is way better

Probably not since you have to go through a baggage claim, a check-in, screening, customs blah blah blah...that's just my opinion since i like to have LOTS of time in case something goes wrong
2 :
delta should inter-line your luggage to the other airline (if delta has a inter-line baggage agreement (most of the majors do) so you wont see your luggage until you arrive in china (this is if your reservation are on one ticket
3 :
I live 15 minutes from JFK. Yes the time is enough..but are you sure to travel Air China?. Do you know how many crashes that airline has in record?, I will use Singapore airline, even if it takes longer it is the best airline, with the best seats, and in economy they give you food like in business class, the best service, the newest planes and great service. You will be in economy class with a business class service.
4 :
It might be a little rush depending on how many people are there that day. Chances are, you will have to switch terminals, which means you have to exit the terminal and either walk or take shuttle over to the next one. Then you have to go through security, possibly check in with the airline again and there might be lines for that. All the terminals are not connected with each other. They are stand alone, in their own separate buildings and there might be a distance between your current one and the next one you need to go to. Plus, one of the major runways is closed for repaving right now, so all the airlines have to share the other runways. edit: Just looked at JFK's website and it looks like that your delta flight will be arriving at Terminal 3. Air China uses terminal 1, so its the building before. You dont have to go far, but you still have to maybe check in, but definitely go through security again.

Would the AFC Wild Card be played in Indianapolis
Would the AFC Wild Card be played in Indianapolis? ?
Since the Colts have a better record than either Denver or San Diego, would the Wild Card game be played in Indianapolis? I know that #4 plays #5 and the Colts are the #5 team. Depending on who wins this upcoming week between Denver and San Diego, that team would be #4. I want to get tickets for my boyfriend for his birthday and need to arrange flight and hotel if they are playing in Indy.

No, it will be played at San Diego.
2 :
Nope higher seed gets home field. Record means nothing because the Colts didn't win the division.
3 :
No. The team with a higher seed, in this case denver or san diego would be the 4 seed and therefore get the home field game regardless of record.
4 :
No, the only way the colts play a home game in the playoffs, would be in the AFC championship team and that would only happen if they were playing the 6th seed which is highly unlikely that the colts will have a home game.
5 :
nope wild card realy play at home unless there 5 and they play the 6 seed p's ffuucckk the colts go pats and titans lol kidding no not really
6 :
No it would not: Division winners get the priority for homefield
7 :
Save your money, the game will be in Denver or San Diego. The only way the Colts will host a playoff game is if the Colts and the #6 seeded team make it to the AFC Championship game, which won't happen.
8 :
What Steve said except I disagree completely with his last sentence. Baltimore could definitely win at Miami or New England. Not saying they will...but they can.
9 :
No the game will be in either SD or Denver.

What is the best way to get from downtown Chicago to Chicago Midway Airport
What is the best way to get from downtown Chicago to Chicago Midway Airport?
Hi, I am visiting Chicago at the beginning of May. We arrive by bus from Indianapolis but are departing from Midway airport. Our flight departs at 9am and we are staying at the James Hotel, 55 East Ontario. What is the quickest and most cost effective way of getting there. There will be two people with a total of four pieces of luggage. How much will it cost and how long will the ride take at that time of day. Many Thanks, Jon

you would have to take the ORANGE line and the last stop is Midway airport . it would cost about $3.00 per person.. as for the baggage as long as the train isnt to crowded you will be ok.. you would want to get there at least 90 minutes before the flight the hotel workers should be able to tell you where to get on the Orange line and the times the trains departs
2 :
Just avoid the BS and take a cab. It will save you lots of hassle.
3 :
From your location (which is in the River North/Magnificent Mile area), walk west to State Street. You'll catch the red line, probably at Grand station. Head south (toward 95th Street), and get off at the Roosevelt stop. There's an easy there. Walk through the pedestrian tunnel and then take the elevator upstairs to the orange line. Head south on the orange line to Midway. You'll walk through a skyway to get from the train station to the parking ramp and airport terminal. The cost should be $2.25, and if you've been using a CTA pass for your other travels in Chicago, the same pass will get you to the airport. The time will probably be half an hour or less, but allow 45 minutes, in case the transfer is timed wrong. You'll probably want to leave at 6:30am to allow for all the check-in procedures. The red line is likely to be crowded through downtown, but just push your way on with luggage--tourists do it all the time. The orange line (especially outbound toward Midway) should have plenty of space for you and your luggage.
4 :
Save yourself all of the needless Mickey Mousing and just take a cab The entire ride is against the flow of traffic and at 7:00 AM it's a 15-18 minute trip

Missing a flight with Delta being Delta's fault
Missing a flight with Delta being Delta's fault?
Missing a flight with Delta being Delta's fault? Maybe NOT Delta's fault, but I'm scheduled on two Delta flights. Boise to Minneapolis, then Minneapolis to Indianapolis. (Boise to Indianapolis being the trip) Unfortunately, there's a whole 30 minutes between each flight. That's the worst transfer time limit I've ever seen. If my first flight is late, and I miss the second, what's Delta's policy? Am I absolutely BONED? or do I get a chance at being on a stand-by flight? I'm not aware, I always fly Southwest and this is my first Delta trip. BTW, I've emailed Delta but they never replied. That's reassuring.

You will be placed on stand by for the next trip. It the plane is late that is on them, normally they will do what is needed to get you to your other gate. When on the plane mention to your flight attendant that you only have 30 minutes to get to your next plane, she might let you get off first!
2 :
This happened to me on delta wednesday they were nice enough to put me on the next available plane.
3 :
Don't worry - this happens a lot. Weather delay, mechanical delays and so on can sometimes make you miss a flight even with a 3 hour connection layover (happened to me). They will book you onto the next flight on which there is space. They won't charge you for it. They have an obligation to transport you to the destination for which you bought a ticket. The fly in the ointment, however, is that with so many flights running near capacity these days, the next flight with an available seat might not be for many hours.

Bag checking info-Intercontinental airport-houston and/or the Indianapolis airport and/or airports in general
Bag checking info-Intercontinental airport-houston and/or the Indianapolis airport and/or airports in general?
This Saturday, I am flying with my mom out of Houston to Indianapolis. This will be my first flight ever. I have a cell phone, that for personal reasons, my mother cannot find out about. I know that if i have it carry-on, it will have to go on a tray, or something of the sort, and my mom will be able to see it in clear view. So, i was thinking that I would put it in my checked suitcase. I need step by step instructions on what happens with checked bags at airports like: -Do security guards actually look through checked bags, enough to where mom could see the phone? -Will my checked bag just go through the X-ray? -I am going to take the battery out of the phone and put it in a different side of my suitcase, will this cause a problem with security officers? Also, any other advice on how to hide this phone is greatly appreciated!! I read everyone's answers, no matter how long, and I always choose a best answer :) Thanks guys!!

If you keep the phone in your carry on, it will be scanned but your mother will not be able to see the scanning screen. However, there is a chance they will want to look through your bag, and it would be possible that they'll pull out the phone. There's no problem whatsoever in putting the cell phone in your checked baggage. You don't need to remove the battery, although it might be a good idea just for safety. Checked baggage is rarely checked other than by xray. If your bag is selected for random screening, the agents will look through your stuff. If you're concerned that they might be concerned about the battery, put it in an envelope that is clearly marked "cell phone battery." The examination of your checked baggage is done out of sight of passengers, so your mom will not see it being done.
2 :
You are allowed to keep your cell phone in the carry on bag as it goes through the screening, they only electronic device that needs to be out on its own is a laptop. I would high suggest not packing you cell phone in your checked luggage, as it is more likely to get damaged or go missing. Hope this helps and have a great trip!

First time flying tomorrow, boarding and connection question..PLEASE HELP!!!!!?
I have a flight tomorrow from Indianapolis To Savannah with a connection in Charlotte and the layover amount is 1hr 38min is that enough time and how long does it take to get on my first plane? and since its with the same airline with it be in the same concourse? PLEASE HELP IM SUPER NERVOUS!!!!!

You will not have to go through security twice, so if your plane departs and lands anywhere near on time you sill have time to spare, Just make sure you have enough time to get through security in Indianapolis. and take a book so you will have something to fill up your time besides shopping. Good Luck, and I hope you enjoy the experience.
2 :
An hour and a half layover is plenty of time. Boarding usually begins half an hour before departure, and the process takes about 15-20 minutes. The general guidelines are: 10 minutes before departure - be in your seat 5 minutes before departure - aircraft and jetway doors close I would think you would be in the same terminal in Charlotte since it's the same airline. You may want to double check with the gate agent in Indianapolis, or if you print your boarding pass online, it should state the gate numbers. I haven't flown to or through Charlotte, so I can't give a personal experience from that perspective.
3 :
You will be fine. Take a look at the terminal map and maybe even print it: http://www.charmeck.org/NR/rdonlyres/esj4n3hy6prtv3fxjnotlruy4hdifprkrsosiaabfimeyscgrcx2qvqzuxvgfxgui45dqgrzdmyizj5drbgkdujp5cd/TERMDIRECTORY2008.pdf When arriving into Charlotte the crew will tell you what gate you arrive to. After leaving the airplane look at a monitor for your next gate and go there at least 30 min before departure. The only risk you have is that your flight will be delayed and you miss the connection in Charlotte. If this should happen, don't worry it happens sometimes. I guess both flights are on the same ticket? If so, the airline will rebook you on the next available flight. Don't be nervous, have fun!

When that happened, they were all at the funeral for a fly murdered in cold blood by the President, and could not be reached for comment.

It's standard practice to euthanize stow-away critters like that. You can't simply release them and if there's no secure place for them to stay then there's no choice. On occasions, foreign creatures like that may end up in a zoo - but it's not always appropriate. It's just commonsense.

I'm not sure I understand you 100% However, if I do, then, yes, anyone can buy a ticket for anyone else. It would be you friend's name as the passenger and then your credit card (name and address) for the payment.
2 :
You can buy the ticket but it has to be in her name and only she can ever use it. Call your travel agent or the airline.
3 :
It doesn't matter who pays for the ticket... just make sure you put her name as the passenger. Hope this info helps!

You can buy a ticket for your friend but it will have to be in her name, and make sure the spelling is correct and will match the spelling on her ID. One seat one name. Some airlines will let you transfer the ticket to a different name but check with the airline before purchase, .

Yes you can but the ticket has to be on her name and you have to ensure that the title (Miss Mrs or Ms) is correct and that her first and surname are correctly spelt otherwise she will have a problem boarding the flight. It doesnt matter who pays for the ticket but you must remember that the ticket is not transferable once its issued and besides the air fare you will have to pay for the airport tax too.
6 :
Yes, but you will need to know alot of personal information like I.d., passport #, driver's licenses #, and flight miles too. and more
my friend stays in austin, tx, and she want to take a vacation up to indianapolis, in, to see some of her family and i want to know that "Can i buy her ticket for her using my name and hers?"

Which is a better airport to be in, Indianapolis or O'Hare
Which is a better airport to be in, Indianapolis or O'Hare?
I'm going to book a flight soon and my departure options either have me waiting for three hours in Indianapolis or a three hour lay over in O'Hare. Having not really flown too much myself, in your opinion, which is the better of the two airports to have to spend three hours?

O'Hare has a lot more people and the airport is extremely busy. If you like watching airplanes take-off and land, O'Hare will have a lot of them. Indianapolis probably would be a bit nicer as I do not expect the airport to be anywhere near as busy as O'Hare.
2 :
Indianapolis....when I worked for Northwest Airlines I would NEVER and quote NEVER re-route ANY passengers thru O'Hare....you practically spit on the runways and they close the airport...O'Hare is very prone to delays anytime of the year...I would take IND hands down

Why wont autopilot work on fsx (beechcraft baron 58)
Why wont autopilot work on fsx (beechcraft baron 58)?
Ilove flying on FSX. i just got done with a flight in the mooney bravo, so i decided to jump in the beechcraft baron and take it for a little spin. I was doing an IFR flight from indianapolis indiana to bloomington indiana. well when i was getting all of my clearances and cruising altitude and headings i was putting them into the AP. after takeoff i raised the flaps and gear and turned on AP and then hit the alititude hold button, well it wouldnt hold the altitude only the heading, (it didnt do this in the mooney bravo) what is going on?

Did the ALT button not engage? If it did, try to adjust the altitude to the correct setting in the autopilot.
2 :
Perhaps a dirt dauber or other bug has plugged the aneroid tube to the auto pilot.

Could someone please do a sample search for me for airfare rates to canada
Could someone please do a sample search for me for airfare rates to canada?
Every time I try to go on a airfare website, it crashes on my computer because my computer is stupid like that. Anyways, could someone see how much a flight from Indianapolis, Indiana to Calgary, Canada would be? I can only afford coach, if that tells you anything. There will be 2 adults traveling, and for the departure date, it doesn't matter, but some time in July, and I would like to return within like 1-3 weeks. I just need an estimate of the price range of the flight. The airline doesn't matter, I just need a reasonable price. Thank You!

What to do about possibly not seeing my dad this New Years
What to do about possibly not seeing my dad this New Years?
I'm 17, and my parents are divorced. My dad lives in New York, and I live in Indiana with my mom. My mom and my dad have an agreement that I see him ever summer, and on every other Christmas/New Years(alternating them. Christmas one year, New Years the next) My mom refuses to let me fly alone on a connecting flight, regardless that I have been flying since i was about 4 years old and that I flew alone on a direct flight last year. Last summer, she set a flight from Indianapolis to Philadelphia(6 hours from where my dad lives) instead of driving me to Chicago(4 hrs from where I live) and letting me take the direct flight from Chicago to Albany. What should I do? I've tried to prove my point that I am quite old enough and experienced enough to fly by myself on a connecting flight. I am old enough, I am over prepared, and I'm smart enough to figure out that Gate A11 or B16(just examples) is where I need to be. What should I do? Is there anything I can do in court for something like this? Shouldn't she not be able to keep me from seeing my father, especially when I am 17? I am talking with my mom later. Is there anything I can do to help her see that I am mature enough to handle these kinds of things? Please don't give crappy answers. Thank you.

If your parents are divorced, they have made a settlement on how you shall be 'divided" amongst them. If you want to see your dad on the holiday that you are supposed to, and she doesn't let you, AND it is violating the terms of their settlement, then you can take it to court and the court can find a solution. If her not letting you go is within the terms of their agreement, then there isn't much the court can do.
2 :
Is there a relative she trusts? Your grandma, an aunt? I would try talking to a family member and see if they will talk to her. That is a tough situation. Have you asked her what her concern is? Ask her and just listen. Let her tell you what she is thinking. Keep asking til you feel she has listed them all. Once you know all of the concerns, then take a couple days to think about the concerns. Find situations where you have behaved in a manner that would prove that the concern is invalid. Then, approach her with the list of concerns. Write it all down ahead of time so you can do it in an organized manner. Address each concern with your proof. Once you have pointed those out, ask her to just think about the conversation for a couple days. Then, approach her again and ask if she has come up with some sort of compromise.
3 :
If the agreement is a court order, then she has to let you go. If not, then she doesn't. I have a daughter around your age. I would suggest you look at an airline online. Find a flight that has a transfer, and figure it out. Present it to her to show you know what to do. For instance find flight 225 that lands in a city a 5pm and the connecting flight is flight 555 leaving from gate 34 at 6pm. Explain to her that an hour gives you plenty of time to get to the gate. You will never be leaving the airport, which is staffed with allot of security and other employees. Prove that you can do it, and she will probably let you. Good luck!
4 :
I see no reason why you can't fly alone. My daughter flew 6,000 miles w. a connecting flight in Germany (she does not speak German), at 13 yr. old, and she was fine. My grandson flew 5 hr. at 10 to a foreign country. I think it is not the flying, but your mother's personal issues that are the problem. ..........................................................

Would I need to check into customs coming from Canada into the states
Would I need to check into customs coming from Canada into the states?
So, in july i plan on going with a couple of friends to indianapolis, and we're flying from Canada. We're all lost on how this u.s customs thing work.. I'm coming from Montreal Canada and will be connecting in Chicago to get to Indianapolis, would i need to check my luggage in montreal, and then do the whole u.s customs thing/checking of the passport in Chicago and Re-check my luggage before getting onto the flight to indianapolis, or would i just have to check my luggage and passport in Montreal? i'm lost...and i also heard it can take up to 2 hours to get cleared through the u.s customs and by the time i arrive to chicago i will have 45 minutes and then i have to aboard the flight to indianapolis... i'd like to know more information on this stuff inhead of time so i can be prepared....Thanks!

You will pre-clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Montreal. Once you get past that point, you are, for all intents and purposes "on U.S. soil". You will not have to go through Customs again until you return to Montreal, and that will be Canadian Customs. Regarding your luggage, it should be checked right through to Indianapolis, unless you're flying on two different airlines that have no luggage handling agreement in place, and that is very rare. You will find that out when you check in in Montreal. If you need to know beforehand, call the airline or travel agency that you booked with and ask them. Addendum: "bran" obviously has never flown from a major Canadian city to the U.S. This site lists all the cities, including Montreal, that offer pre-clearance: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/preclear_locations.xml

The airlines usually have this info on their webpage. Have you tried that? I am unsure what the other answerer is talking about! I worked in an airport and when you come into the USA from another country, you will go thru customs. Sometimes it takes a long time, yes, but it depends on the lines. On your other flight, you wont go thru customs. When you go home, you simply get on the plane, and when you get home to Montreal, you will go thru customs again, but since that is your home country it will be easier.

How long does it take to fly from Indianapolis (or Chicago) to London?
I am planning a summer trip to Europe, and wondering how long the flights will be. I will be flying back from Paris to Indy or Chicago, so if you have a time estimate for either of those I would appreciate it!

If taking a non-stop flight between Chicago and London.. it will take u approximately 7.30 hours AND from Paris to Chicago is approximately 9.05hours
2 :
Chicago to London general averages about 8 hrs flying a polar type route and is about the same from Indianapolis...return trip generally takes 8 1/2 hrs due to headwinds from the jet stream. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Is $230 round flight ticket to Las Vegas a good deal?
I can fly out of Indianapolis to Las Vegas and back for about $230 through North West. Leaving Sunday August 2 and coming back Thursday August 6. Does this sound like a good deal? Should I book it now or wait a bit longer?

Sounds like a good deal as long as you are not making too many stops along the way.

It sounds like an Ok deal, but not a good deal. I'm flying from Philly to Vegas non-stop later this month and I paid $233 with all the taxes and fees. Philly is further than Indy, so I would think Indy should be more than $3 cheaper than Philly.
5 :
Just do your research. Im flying july 4th roundtrip to vegas from atlanta and was suprised to find delta had the cheapest price at $230 roundtrip.
6 :
Yes, that is definitely a good deal. It's hard to find airfare to Vegas for less than $300, let alone $250. When I am searching for my Vegas flights, if I find one that is less than $250, I book it and I never find anything cheaper after I have booked it. Because of rising gas prices, BOOK NOW! The airlines will find a reason to raise the rates.
7 :

I'd say Boise, because that's where you'll be when you land. But who knows airports and airport personnel are kinda weird.
2 :
your arrival time is always the time that it is at the place of arrival. So Boise for sure.
3 :
boise time you'll land, that's where i live so what brings you to this part of the USA and i believe indiana is 2 hours ahead of boise so it'll be midnight indiana time and 10pm boise time
4 :
Airlines will always post the local arrival time. . That is why you will see departures and arrivals at the same time or maybe a hour apart when the flight is 2 or 3 hours long.

Question about flying nonstop and flying one stop
Question about flying nonstop and flying one stop?
Ok so im trying to fly to Indianpolis from Seattle. There are no nonstop flights from Seattle to Indianapolis. I am going college visiting on the last week of march. I will be goign to detroit and indianapolis. Ok so while searching for airlines and good prices, I found that flying to detroit nonstop costs $599 per person, while flying to indianapolis with 1 stop costs $125 per person. I wanted to fly directly to detroit and then dive to indianpolis and fly back home to seattle, but that costs way too much. But if I fly to indianapolis and drive to detroit it will take too much time. I found a flight from Seattle to Indianapolis, and its a 1 stop flight. But, the thing is, the stop it makes is at detroit. So is it ok for me to just get off at that first stop and not make the complete flight to indianapolis? Because it costs $599 just to go straight to detriot, so I figured, if I just do a 1 stop flight to indianapolis and get off at the first stop, detroit, I could save like $400 dollars. So my question is, is this legal? What do you suggest I do? so there is no way to retrieve my bags? =[
Air Travel - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
sure it's legal, but the airline will cancel the rest of your flights, and hopefully you don't have a bag to check, because it will go to IND
2 :
ONE problem with that is your bag will be on the flight to indianapolis if you did that.. They take it right off the plane and onto your connecion plane when they scan it or it could be on a totally different plane going to indianapolis.
3 :
Since you plugged SEA-IND, it will show up all possible ways, including a flight which has one stop. Of course, if someone wanting to fly to Detroit, they'd get a one-step flight. Say that's what you want now.. right? Then that's totally legal! It's your choice on how you want to fly. If you wanted to fly to Indianapolis with a ticket paying the fare to Detroit, of course you won't be getting that second ticket when you check-in.
4 :
Two problems: 1. I assume you want to return back to Seattle. The airline will cancel the rest of your ticket, with no refund, when you don't show up for your flight from Detroit to Indy. So then you'd have to book a one-way ticket back to Seattle, and there is a good chance it would cost more than what you are saving this way. 2. If you have checked bags, they automatically go to your final destination. You can't retrieve your bags in Detroit when you decide to bail on your second flight. So you'd have to do carry-on only. It's hard to catch people for doing it when they skip out on the last leg of a flight or itinerary. But when you purchase a ticket, that is considered a contract between you and the airline, and you break it when you start skipping out on flights.

If you have checked bags, they automatically go to your final destination. You can't retrieve your bags in Detroit when you decide to bail on your second flight. So you'd have to do carry-on only. It's hard to catch people for doing it when they skip out on the last leg of a flight or itinerary. But when you purchase a ticket, that is considered a contract between you and the airline, and you break it when you start skipping out on flights.

orbitz.com not cheap enough? Use the matrix display (tm) to see which days may be cheaper, if your dates are flexible. Else, try Hotwire.
2 :
I recommend http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/. It searches all the fares of most airlines and travel websites (except Southwest). You can look up cheap fares to and from a city. You can also sign up for fare alerts and it will email you as frequently as you want the cheapest fares between two cities. For your specific case go to the website. On the left there is a link called discount airfare. It will take you to a page that lists most major cities. Scroll down and select the link for Indianapolis. That page will list the cheapest airfare from Indianapolis to many destinations. As of June 7 at 4:20 PM eastern that fare is $206 on American (several other airlines are matching). If you select the link for the fare it will give you all the restrictions and booking links. I use the Travelocity link if it is available becuase I find it easier to choose my travel dates.

No it's not a good time. They are laying off people. And you don't get to select your home base. One of my children was a flight attendant.

All the maps you need are here: http://www.indianapolisairport.com/maps_directions
2 :
You don't necessarily have to park, they have curbside pick-up for arriving passengers (as with every airport), but you'll follow the signs for arrivals (NOT departures)... and it will take you to the baggage claim area to pick up your passengers once they gather their luggage. You'll see signs for each different carrier (United, NWA, AirTran, etc) so you know where to expect to find them. Its a very small airport! Very user-friendly!
3 :
oh man I went to the wrong airport last time i was there, but they have signs to direct you to the new airport even if you mess up. It's not that far out of the way so I think you will be ok. if you have a gps, your map probably will not take you to the new airport.
4 :
If you want to go in there is short term parking or you can drive up to arriving passengers. If you get there early they is a cell phone lot so when passengers arrive they can call you so you don't have to do the circle tour. The signs are well placed but if you wait for arriving passenger you cant set there and wait if there is a crowd. So the cell phone lot or short term parking is your best bet.

What is the hottest sneaker/shoe store/boutique in Indianapolis, Indiana
What is the hottest sneaker/shoe store/boutique in Indianapolis, Indiana?
I need to know where the hottest shoe store in indy is. I'm not looking for a "Champs" or "Footlocker" or "Finishline" or a shoe store like that. I'm looking for a boutique or something like a "Flight Club". P.S. I wear a size 14/15 in shoes so they need to sell big sizes too

Try Hibbet Sports or athletic sports they have the larger shoes for many folks. Also try the Gander Mountain or if you can find one a Galyans sporting goods. It is hard to find shoes that size outside of a sports store Good Luck:)
