Missing a flight with Delta being Delta's fault?
Missing a flight with Delta being Delta's fault? Maybe NOT Delta's fault, but I'm scheduled on two Delta flights. Boise to Minneapolis, then Minneapolis to Indianapolis. (Boise to Indianapolis being the trip) Unfortunately, there's a whole 30 minutes between each flight. That's the worst transfer time limit I've ever seen. If my first flight is late, and I miss the second, what's Delta's policy? Am I absolutely BONED? or do I get a chance at being on a stand-by flight? I'm not aware, I always fly Southwest and this is my first Delta trip. BTW, I've emailed Delta but they never replied. That's reassuring.

You will be placed on stand by for the next trip. It the plane is late that is on them, normally they will do what is needed to get you to your other gate. When on the plane mention to your flight attendant that you only have 30 minutes to get to your next plane, she might let you get off first!

Don't worry - this happens a lot. Weather delay, mechanical delays and so on can sometimes make you miss a flight even with a 3 hour connection layover (happened to me). They will book you onto the next flight on which there is space. They won't charge you for it. They have an obligation to transport you to the destination for which you bought a ticket. The fly in the ointment, however, is that with so many flights running near capacity these days, the next flight with an available seat might not be for many hours.
