Airplane Itinerary Question: Departure/Arrival Times, Where I sit, etc.?
It's been quite a long time since I've had the luxury of flying on a plane (I grew up travelling overseas with my parents as a child ), but it's been so long that I have no idea how it's done per se. Anyhow, the question is as follows: Depart: INDIANAPOLIS, 2:10PM Arrive: NEWARK EWR, 4:15PM Depart: NEWARK EWR, 6:25PM Arrive: ST JOHNS NFLD, 10:56PM Now with that information given, are the times presented based on the airport I arrive in, or is it a generalized time for where the person has bought the ticket from?? Like, is my wait in Newark 2 hours once I arrive before leaving to St.John's?? Next, I was told on my itinerary I could find what plane to search for to find where my seat would be.. I have googled every portion of my details and nothing has came up. Example: Flight: CO*3263 *Operated by EXPRESSJET AIRLINES INC doing business as CONTINENTAL EXPRESS Class: V Equipment: ERJ-145 Any help or kind explanations would put me at ease and be appreciated! To Renate: Yes, I do have my passport and everything is booked. However, my boyfriend up in St.John's , who lives there, booked it all, so I was still left in the dark as far as questions go because I wasn't the one on the phone booking! Hah. I'm looking very much forward to it. Thanks for the clarification also on the time! To Martian1174: Thanks a ton for that link and your answer :) Tirya: Bingo!, Thanks a ton for that link!

Hello, you have a layover in Newark for appox. 2 hours 5 minutes. This will go fast as you have to walk from one gate to the next and check in (your bags will be transferred automatically). You may want to ask the flight attendants on the first plane from Indianapolis to Newark - how to get to the gate in Newark and the gate # will be on your ticket. You need to book your seat before the flight. Call the airlines and ask if you can book the seat now for the Newark - Newfoundland part of the journey. Have you been to Newfoundland? I have been there about 20 years ago for a tourism even the Canadian Government put on and the people are wonderful. It is going to be really cold so take very warm clothes. You do have your passport right?!
2 :
Most airline websites' departure and arrival times are based on the local time of the airport you are departing from and the local time of the airport you are arriving in. Every airline also have their own seat configurations. Sometimes there are different seating configurations on the same type of aircraft. Check the specific airline's website for the seat maps, if available. For your flight: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/inflight/aircraft/embraerRJ145.aspx
3 :
the times are all local. So yes you have a 2h 10 m layover in Ewr. The aircraft details can be found at the airlines website.
4 :
go to continental.com & find your flight by typing in your confirmation number. From there you will have all sorts of options (change seating, times, etc...)

HELP First time flyer and alone
HELP First time flyer and alone?
I'm flying from Pittsburgh to Indianapolis on April 4th. And I don't know what I'm doing! I've got an expensive digital SLR camera and two lenses and also a laptop. Can I combine the two and put them into a backpack and take it on board as my personal item? I also am not sure if my suitcase will work as a carry on. Its just a simple, normal size rolling suitcase. Also, what's the order I do things in? Check in, security, ahh!! I'm freaking out about the airport, not the flight!! I could care less about take off and crap, I've flown in little puddle jumper planes, so I'm not scared about that. Its the stinkin airport! Help, please!!!

You can take the camera and laptop on board. Just follow the 10,000 foot rule. You can't use any electronic equipment below 10,000 feet. Make sure that your checked luggage (not going on the plane) is below 75lbs or they make you pay an extra fee for oversized luggage. The carry on luggage has to be small enough to fit in the overhead bin so I'd stick with a backpack or computer case to be on the safe side. You don't want to take the chance that they'll make you check your valuable stuff because your bag is too big. As far as checkin goes, you can usually do a check in online within 24 hours from your takeoff. You should have gotten a 6 digit reference number when you bought the ticket and you can go to the airline's website and do an online check in. This allows you to avoid the long line at the airport to check in. You just go to an express line, give them your luggage and your check in receipt and your done. After that, you'll go to security. They make you take off your shoes and take off any metallic objects like a belt or change in your pocket. Once your on the other side of security you're home free!
2 :
1. keep your valuables (jewellery, money, gadgets, passport, etc) within your "arms-length", means always carry near you and goes with you in the cabin, the rest can go in the suit case to the baggage. 2. keep your ticket and passport (etc. items needed for check in) ready within your reach when you enter the airport (in the hand bag or back pack). you don't want to cause long lines behind you just because you keep these items "lock up" securely on the bottom of your bag. 3. make sure everything you need by the time you enter the airport until you exit the visiting airport are ready within your "arms-length", so try to imagine what are you going to do besides preparing your ticket and passport, that should be your base to prepare the items. 4. check in at your airline's counter, give them your suitcase, keep your hand bag/back pack with you, get the check in voucher, go to the immigration (if applied in your country/state), and your ready to wait for your plane in the waiting room. the most important thing is : 1. prepare all your stuff ready 1 day before your departure. 2. leave early to the airport (give it min. 1 hour arrive at the airport before the departure time) so that you won't be rushing late, and get scolded by others who are waiting for you. don't worry, read all the signs, and ask when you need the information. good luck and safe travelling....

You're the only one that knows how you feel about each of those options. You can see your friend anytime...maybe not with all those particular activities, but still.... How often do you get to see your cousin?...how long before you'd get to see her again? Whatever you do.....Happy Birthday!
2 :
that's a decision for you to make. who truly means more to you? if i were you, i'd see my cousins who live far away because i don't get a chance to see them very often. friends are around more often and going six flags and having a sleepover is something you can always do. but still it's up to you. good luck !

Where is the outrage from PETA over the murdered scorpions in Indianapolis
Where is the outrage from PETA over the murdered scorpions in Indianapolis?
Was it really necessary to kill them? Something is wrong here. http://www.usatoday.com/travel/flights/2009-07-20-scorpion-stings-passenger_N.htm?csp=YahooModule_Travel&POE=click-refer

I guess you would be outraged until one of those damned things bites you or your family member
2 :
Mmm, spoken by someone who has never been around a scorpion, I'm guessing.
3 :
F*ck the scorpians. Sea kittens is where it's at!
4 :
Considering the fact that they're poisonous, yes.
5 :
Give them time....I would like to see someone unleash a few hundred scorpions, cockroaches, rats, mosquitoes and rattlesnakes at a PETA meeting and see what they do.
6 :
I don't think it is was necessary to kill the Scorpions. But I do think it is necessary to pythons in FL! Am I wrong?

What can you take with you on Air Tran flights
What can you take with you on Air Tran flights?
We are flying out of Midway airport on Sunday. We are flying on Air Trans. We have never flown with them before. How soon should we get there because they have paper tickets and we don't have our seats assigned yet? We are traveling with 6 people. Our flight is at 7:30 in the morning. I think we are planning to get there at about 5:00. Also, we are going on our 4th cruise, and it is to the Caribbean. So, we need to take sunscreen. I like the kind that comes in an aerosol bottle, but I don't think you're allowed to take that with you. Can you? If not, it is fine because we have a bunch of other sun screen. Thanks. Also, how is Air Tran? Do you like it. Our friend who travels a lot says it is a good air line to take out of Midway. Also, where is Midway. We have heard many different things about where it is. We live in Northeast Indiana, so usually we fly out of Fort Wayne or Indianapolis. We have never flown out of Chicago before. It was the cheapest one we could find though.

You should reach the airport 2hr before the flight time in case of domestic travel, and 3 hrs for internagtional flights. You cannot take liquids more than about 100ml in your cabin bags. So all you can take with you on the plane in the handbags is sample size items (you can get them at Walgreens or Walmart or many other general stores) As for sunscreen since you need it only when you reach there, you can pack them in your checked in baggage. There is not limit on what and how much liquids you put in the checked in bag. Be careful though that the containers are well sealed or else everything else in the bags may be ruined due to the way they handle baggage! :) Two tips from me :) 1- If you can buy something at th destination (for example sunscreen!) don't pack it with you ! 2 - And don't take anything in your handbaggage that you will not need during your time in flight. If you pack lite it will save you from a lot of stress during checkins and security.

1. Getting there at around 5:00 for a 7:30 flight should give you plenty of time. 2. This is a list that will tell you if an item is allowed or prohibited in your carry-on and/or checked luggage: http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm#2 3. If you plan to take any liquids with you in your carry-on luggage, please see this link: http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/311/index.shtm Again, that is only for carry-on luggage. Your checked luggage has no restrictions on liquids. 4. AirTran is currently the highest ranked airline for customer service; I've flown with them before and all of my flights were on time, the baggage was on time - I had no problems with them. 5. Here's a map and directions to Midway: http://www.chicago-mdw.com/maps.html Scroll down past the map of the airport itself - there will be a map of the area around Midway and driving directions under that. 6. You can take anything with you that you could possibly need, excluding things that are prohibited by TSA (see link above - #2) I hope that helps.

Fly to NY. Driving will only burn up your gas bill, and possibly call for a hotel trip on the way back. With flying, you get your accommodations handed to you, and you save money. Hope I helped!
2 :
Fly, Driving in NY is a nightmare and there is no place to park.
3 :
If you are coming alone and staying in Manhattan it will be cheaper to fly as you will not have parking to consider. You probably would not use your car here anyway.
4 :
Fly. You DO NOT want to have to drive in NYC [sure, you live in a city and are used to city driving, but NYC is a whole 'nother animal!!]. And parking will cost you a fortune, if you can find it. You could easily spend $148 on parking for several days.
5 :
Fly...Its cheaper and quicker..I did a Chicago to New York drive it was a horrible 15 hours.
